Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Labour Chief Mr. Chan Chun Sing visited Yamazaki Mazak's Southeast Asia Headquaters Singapore on Monday, 15th June 2015.
The visit was Mr Chan's first visit to the company's Joo Koon facility with the purpose being to learn more about Mazak's approach to manufacturing and a brief dialogue session with the employees.
The minister begins his tour with illustrating the profile of Yamazaki Mazak and it's first Southeast Asia Cyber Factory. He was also introduced to the Palletech Manufacturing Cell and Robot Cell, Minister Chan was captivated that both cells are fully capable of un-manned operations.
The tour continued to Mazak's Southeast Asia Technology Centre where the Minister witness first-hand some of Mazak's leading edge technology.The visit ended with a brief dialogue session with employees from various departments where Minister Chan shared his view on work life balance and retirement age.
Minister Chan Chun Sing is impressed with Mazak's state - of - the - art setup and is optimistic about the future of manufacturing in Singapore.
